Marlowe’s Antiques

Silver, clocks, pictures and old furniture. Provenance is given where it is known.

Marlowe’s Antiques is on the High Street. It deals in silver, clocks, paintings, jewellery and old furniture, together with a quantity of smaller objects that have not been classified.

The aisles between the shelves and the display cases are narrow, and customers carrying bags are asked to leave them at the counter. Several of the clocks are kept wound. They do not all tell the same time.

Much of the stock comes from house clearances in Seabrook and the surrounding district. Where the history of a piece is known, it is written on the ticket.

Auctions are held on the premises from time to time and are advertised in the Seabrook Chronicle. Viewing is on the morning of the sale. The shop also buys.
